A Moment Like This

Songwriters: John Reid; Jorgen Eloffson
Performer: Kelly Clarkson
Category: Contemporary

I followed the first season of American Idol in 2002 when this song was assigned to the final 4 competitors. While I can't remember any impact of the other renditions of it, Kelly Clarkson's performance of it was absolutely heartfelt, especially when she sang it as her final farewell to the Idol stage. It was probably one of the few times I have actually had tears well up while watching a TV show!

Kelly went on to include it in her debut album "Thankful," as you will see below.

LYRICS

What if I told you it was all meant to be
Would you believe me, would you agree?
It's almost that feeling we met before
So tell me that you don't think I'm crazy
When I tell you love has come here and now

CHORUS
A moment like this
Some people wait a lifetime for a moment like this
Some people search forever for that one special kiss
Oh, I can't believe it's happening to me
Some people wait a lifetime for a moment like this

Everything changes but beauty remains
Something so tender, I can't explain
Well, I may be dreaming but till I awake
Can't we make this dream last forever
And I'll cherish all the love we share

CHORUS

Could this be the greatest love of all
I wanna know that you will catch me when I fall
So let me tell you this
Some people wait a lifetime for a moment like this

CHORUS
