Bonded Together

Songwriter/Performer: Twila Paris
Category: Christian

This song has been around in Christian circles for a while, ever since Twila Paris put it on her 1987 album Same Girl. While it actually refers to the relationship between a person and God, it is also appropriate to describe the relationship being formed by a bride and groom - hence its use in wedding ceremonies. It's particularly suited to unity ceremonies with its lyrics about a common indestructible bond, and holy fusion.

Sheet music (piano/vocal)

LYRICS

Like tightly woven garment, like a metal alloy,
We are put together in the strongest way.
With a common bond to join us that they cannot destroy
We are held together in the longest way.

And we could not be pulled apart
Without it tearing out a heart.

CHORUS
Bonded together,
You are my Father forever.
You will never leave me,
We are bonded together.

There is never space between us for a separation.
We are put together in the tightest way.
And a holy fusion causes this amalgamation.
We are held together in the brightest way.

And we could not be pulled apart
Without it tearing out a heart.

CHORUS

You cling to me. I cling to you.
You cling to me. I am clinging too.
I am clinging too.

CHORUS
