Billy Sprague is a contemporary Christian artist & songwriter who was most active in the late '80s and early '90s. He has toured with Amy Grant and Michael W Smith and has six (some sources say 8 or 10) albums himself.

This song (not to be confused with the Lionel Richie song of the same name) comes from his 1988 La Vie and 1989 I Wish albums.

iTunes doesn't have this particular track available from Billy Sprague. Neither does Amazon. But here is a YouTube video of the song so you can hear how it goes.

LYRICS

Some call it old-fashioned now
But I call it love
Some call it making a vow
But I call it love

Is it only tradition fading away
For two people to promise till death ends their days
Oh some call it old-fashioned now
But I call it love

Without love we're nothing
In a world where the heart is so frail
Promises made seem break every day
But through it all love never fails

Some call it fantasy
But I call it love
Some call it history
But I call it love

For the sacred page is a letter you see
From the hand of the history-maker to me
Oh some call it fantasy
But I call it love

It's written in the holy pages
To anyone who is willing to know
Love brought us here and will someday appear
To carry away all His own

Without love we're nothing
In a world where the heart is so frail
And promises made seem break every day
But through it all love never fails

Yeah...

Some call Him only a man
But I call Him love
Some call it sad circumstance
When He died on the hill
It was not a disgrace
For the Holy One offered his life in my place
Some call Him only a man
But I call Him love
