The movie St. Elmo's Fire came out in 1985 with stand-out ensemble cast that included Emilio Estevez, Rob Lowe, Andrew McCarthy, Demi Moore, Judd Nelson, Ally Sheedy & Mare Winningham. They played a group of college graduates figuring out how to make the transition to adulthood.
The Love Theme from the movie (which was completely instrumental) hit #15 on the Billboard Hot 100 that year. Another version of the theme with lyrics (called For Just A Moment - lyrics below) was recorded by Amy Holland and Donny Gerrard, and you can hear it on the soundtrack album.
The sung version of the theme doesn't really mesh with a wedding ceremony (I only include the lyrics for your information). But I think the instrumental theme is nice for a wedding, and fits best for your bridal party. Depending on how many attendants you have walking in, your musician(s) can play just the first section or include the bridge as well.
We laugh until we had to cry
And we love down to our last goodbye
We were the best
I think we'll ever be
Just you and me...
For just a moment
We chase that dream
that we never found
And sometimes we let one another down
But the love we made
made everything all right
We shone so bright
For just a moment
Time goes on
People touch and they're gone
And you and I
will never love again
like we did then
Someday when we both reminisce
We both say there wasn't too much we missed
And through the tears (and through the tears)
the smile when we recall
We had it all
For just a moment
Time goes on
people touch and then they're gone
But you and I will never really end
Will never love again
like we did then
We laugh
until we had to cry
And we love
right down to our last goodbye
