Oldies Love Songs

I have a real soft spot in my heart for golden oldies love songs. Particularly I love the 40s and 50s love songs - true classic love songs in my opinion. And when you think about it, they express the kind of lasting commitment that is completely supportive of a wedding day!

What's fascinating to me is the way these songs which languished in relative obscurity (other than devoted aficionados of the period) have been rediscovered and re-recorded by modern performers - Rod Stewart recorded several CDs of golden oldies. Other modern artists like Michael Buble and Harry Connick Jr. have really revived the big band era and brought these golden oldies love songs into the playlists of a totally new generation.

There are also some classics from the 60s sprinkled through the list below. The 60s had some great romantic and up-tempo tunes that lend some spunk and fun to a wedding ceremony.

If you love these classic love songs like I do, here are some great ones to pick from for your wedding ceremony. In sorting through all the repertoire, I realized that a lot of it would be great for your wedding dance, but there were still a lot of songs to choose for your ceremony as well. And because these oldies exist in both their original era and in updated versions, you have even more choice in the style or arrangement you want for your wedding music.
