Te Deum Prelude

Composer: Charpentier
Category: Classical

A friend of mine mentioned she used Charpentier's prelude from his Te Deum for her bridal entrance, and it was so well received that a number of her friends also used it for their wedding. It is quite a lively, grand, Baroque piece for organ, which is most appropriate for a wedding, though it was originally composed for strings, woodwinds and organ.

If you haven't already heard the Te Deum prelude at a wedding, you may have heard it if you follow the Eurovision Song Contest. It's an extremely popular Europe-wide song contest that's been running since the 1950s, and uses the prelude as its theme music.
