This is another of those timeless love songs that literally dozens of artists have, well, fallen in love with. It first appeared in the 1952 movie One Minute to Zero, and was a hit first with Doris Day that same year. After that, Nat King Cole had a successful run with it, as did Johnny Mathis, The Carpenters, Kenny Rogers, Rick Astley, and of course Clive Griffin & Celine Dion.
It's also a versatile song, depending on your musicians. It can be done as a vocal solo (as Nat King Cole did) or if you know a couple of singers who can perform as a duet (like Celine & Clive), that's another option. And of course it can be done as an instrumental solo. Chris Botti did a nice jazz trumpet arrangement, or a pianist can play it alone.
It is a very special song personally, as it's the song I always wanted to walk down the aisle to - and did!
When I fall in love it will be forever
Or I'll never fall in love
In a restless world like this is
Love is ended before it's begun
And too many moonlight kisses
Seem to cool in the warmth of the sun
When I give my heart it will be completely
Or I'll never give my heart
And the moment I can feel that you feel that way too
Is when I fall in love with you.
